STOP SCROLLING FOR 30 SECONDS. THIS COULD LITERALLY HELP SAVE MY LIFE I need a kidney transplant, and finding one for me is extraordinarily difficult. My cPRA is 99.9999%, meaning I am extremely highly sensitized and finding someone medically compatible is incredibly challenging. BUT IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Here is all I am asking: SHARE THIS WITH TWO PEOPLE. Then ask those TWO PEOPLE to share it with TWO MORE. That’s it. 2 → 4 → 8 → 16 → 32 → 64… Imagine how far we can carry my story if everybody who sees this does just that. Somewhere out there is a person I haven’t reached yet who may be able to help me. SUPPORT THROUGH THE STORM AND A KIDNEY TO EXIT IT I wish I could tell you that because more than $72,000 has been raised, the crisis is over. I wish I could tell you that because millions of people have seen my story, somewhere along the way we found the kidney. I wish I could tell you that after everything all of you have done, we finally reached the other side. We haven’t. I am still on dialysis. I am still searching for a living kidney donor. And financially, the bills are diabolical. That’s the part of this journey that can be difficult to explain when people see a large fundraising total. Serious illness doesn’t send one bill and go away. Kidney failure keeps charging admission every month. Dialysis, Medicare coinsurance, medications, medical care, transportation, maintaining a safe home environment for peritoneal dialysis and simply keeping everyday life together while fighting a life-threatening illness create expenses that just keep coming. We still desperately need financial help. The money you’ve given hasn’t made me rich. It has helped keep me alive and fighting. It has bought time while we search for the kidney that could finally change everything. And my situation is extraordinarily complicated. My cPRA is 99.9999%. I am extraordinarily highly sensitized, which means finding someone medically compatible can be exceptionally difficult. That’s why millions of views haven’t necessarily translated into the one thing I need most. We don’t just need somebody willing to help. We have to find someone who can successfully make it through the medical evaluation and compatibility process. That’s why I need you to keep helping me search. Please don’t look at the amount raised and assume somebody else will take it from here. Please don’t look at the millions of views and assume surely we’ve already reached the right person. We haven’t. Somewhere is another person who hasn’t heard my story. Somewhere is another church, workplace, family, radio station, Facebook page, TikTok account or group of friends who hasn’t met me yet. And somewhere among all those people may be my one. I am a husband. I am a father. I am a pastor. I’m a broadcaster. I’m a friend. I’m a two-time cancer survivor. And underneath all those titles is simply a man who desperately wants to live. I want to watch my daughter grow up. I want more years with my wife. I want more sermons to preach, more people to serve, more ridiculous things to laugh about and more ordinary mornings when staying alive isn’t the first thing I have to think about. So tonight, my request really is this simple: Please help save my life. Help me have the financial support to survive this storm while we’re searching. And help my story travel farther than it has ever traveled before so we can find the kidney that could finally help me exit the storm. That’s all I’m asking. Support through the storm. A kidney to exit the storm. If you’ve already helped me, please know that I haven’t forgotten it. Every dollar, prayer, message and person who has carried my story somewhere new matters to me more than you will ever know. But please don’t stop now. Send this to your family. Send it to your friends. Send it to your church. Send it to your coworkers. Send it to somebody with a platform. Send it to somebody who doesn’t know me. Please share this with everyone you know. Because maybe you’re not my one. Maybe you KNOW my one. And maybe the person you send this to tonight is the person who sends it to the person who ultimately helps save my life. I am still here. I am still fighting. I still need your help. And I still need the kidney. God bless every single person who has walked through this storm with me. Please keep walking with me until we finally reach the other side. I’M STILL HERE AND I’M STILL WAITING There are moments in this journey when I look at everything that has happened and struggle to put it into words. More than $72,000 has been raised. More than 2,000 people have stepped into my story. Millions of people have seen my face. People I have never met have prayed for me, cried with me, encouraged me and helped carry my family through one of the hardest seasons of our lives. And tonight, I need you to know something. I still don’t have the kidney. Tomorrow morning I will wake up with the same kidney failure I had when this story began. I will still depend on dialysis to stay alive. The boxes and bags will still be there. The appointments will still be there. The medical expenses will still be there. And that number — 99.9999% cPRA — will still remind us just how extraordinarily difficult finding someone medically compatible may be. But I will still be here too. Still fighting. Still believing. Still wanting desperately to watch my 13-year-old daughter grow up. I want to see the young woman she becomes. I want to be there for graduations and birthdays and ordinary Tuesday afternoons that nobody thinks are precious until they’re faced with the possibility of losing them. I want more years with my wife. I want to preach more sermons. I want to laugh until my stomach hurts. I want to annoy my friends for decades to come. I want to grow old enough to complain about being old. I don’t want my daughter to have to remember me. I want her to keep making memories WITH me. That’s what all of this is about. And while we search, there is another reality I haven’t always been comfortable talking about. Staying alive is expensive. Dialysis doesn’t stop while we’re searching. Neither do the medical bills, Medicare coinsurance, medications, transportation, housing, utilities and everyday expenses of trying to maintain a safe life around peritoneal dialysis. Before this campaign ever began, years of serious illness had already taken an enormous financial toll on me. So when I look at $72,000, I don’t see a fundraising number. I see time. I see another dialysis treatment. I see gas in the vehicle to get to another appointment. I see another month with a roof over my head where I can safely perform dialysis. I see another morning I get to wake up and tell my daughter: “Daddy’s still here.” And I see thousands of people essentially saying: “Steven, keep going.” So I will. But there is something else I see when I look at more than 2,000 people who have already stepped into this story. I see 2,000 doorways to somebody else. Maybe the person reading this isn’t medically able to donate a kidney. Maybe the person who sees it tomorrow isn’t either. But that person knows somebody. And that somebody knows somebody else. And somewhere at the end of that chain may be the person we’ve been trying so desperately to reach. That’s why I refuse to believe we’ve come this far for the story to end here. $72,000 isn’t the finish line. Millions of views aren’t the finish line. 2,000 people aren’t the finish line. The finish line is the phone call. The one where somebody says: “Steven, we found your kidney.” Until that phone rings, every person who enters this story matters. Every dollar represents more time to keep fighting. Every new set of eyes represents another possibility that my one is finally going to see me. Somewhere tonight is a person who has absolutely no idea that they could become part of the reason a father gets to grow old. I pray somehow this reaches them. And until it does, I’ll keep waking up. I’ll keep hooking up to dialysis. I’ll keep praying. I’ll keep believing. I’ll keep fighting. Because after everything God has already carried me through, I’m not giving up this close to the miracle. Thank you for keeping me here. Thank you for carrying my family. Thank you for seeing me. And wherever this story travels next, I have only one request: DON’T LET IT STOP WITH YOU. Maybe you’re not my one. Maybe you KNOW my one. WHAT PEOPLE DON’T SEE ABOUT THE COST OF DIALYSIS I want to clarify something about the financial side of this journey because a friend recently reminded me that when people see the amount raised through this fundraiser, they may understandably wonder where that money goes and why financial help is still needed. Medicare has been a tremendous help to me. My peritoneal dialysis treatments, the dialysis supplies delivered to my home and my covered dialysis-related appointments are covered through Medicare. But covered does not mean free. Under Original Medicare, after the annual Part B deductible is met, Medicare generally pays 80% of the Medicare-approved amount for covered dialysis care. I am responsible for the remaining 20%. That includes covered dialysis treatment whether it is performed at a dialysis facility or at home. And when you’re talking about treatment that literally keeps you alive day after day, that 20% becomes real money very quickly. Before this fundraiser, approximately $55,000 had already gone toward previous medical bills and expenses from this fight. And that came after I had already exhausted retirement savings dealing with dialysis and medical expenses, including the period before Medicare coverage was fully in place. That’s the part of this story I haven’t talked about enough. The bills don’t stop while I’m waiting for the kidney. Every month I have to keep myself medically stable, keep a suitable home environment for peritoneal dialysis, keep transportation available for medical care, pay my share of covered medical expenses, handle medications and other health-related costs, and somehow continue paying the same ordinary bills everybody else has. That’s why I’m asking for something very specific now: Can you help me cover another month of fighting? My goal is approximately $3,000 a month to keep everything together while we continue searching for the kidney that could change my life. If 3,000 people gave $1, that’s another month. If 300 people gave $10, that’s another month. If 120 people gave $25, that’s another month. I’m not asking you to finance the rest of my life. I’m asking you to help me stay in this fight long enough to SAVE my life. More than $71,000 has now been raised. More than 2,000 people have stepped forward. Millions have seen my story. And yet the most important part of this story remains unchanged: I STILL NEED THE KIDNEY. My cPRA is 99.9999%, meaning I am extraordinarily highly sensitized and finding a medically compatible donor can be exceptionally difficult. That’s why every additional person who sees this matters. So please help me in either—or both—of two ways. Help me afford another month of fighting. Help me reach the person who could give me years. I want to see my daughter grow up. I want more years with my wife. I want to keep preaching. I want to keep serving. I want to keep working. And I want the opportunity to someday wake up in the morning and realize that a machine and bags of dialysis solution are no longer what is keeping me alive. Thank you for helping me get this far. Now I’m asking you to help me keep going. Maybe you’re not my one. Maybe you KNOW my one. DON’T LET IT STOP WITH YOU.

WE ARE STILL MOVING FORWARD — AND I AM SO GRATEFUL I want to take a moment to thank every single person who has prayed, shared, donated, encouraged me, and helped carry this story farther than I ever could have imagined. Because of you, this campaign has reached thousands of people and raised more than $70,000 to help me continue dialysis, manage the costs connected to this fight, and keep searching for the kidney I desperately need. I am still here. I am still fighting. And I am still believing that the right person is out there. As this story continues to reach more people, I also want to make one thing very clear so there is never any confusion: If you want to support me financially, please donate ONLY through this approved GoFundMe campaign. This is the official fundraiser created by Joshua Liljenquist and his team to support me: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-pastor-steven-fight-for-his-life-p74hx Please do not send money through any other website or fundraiser claiming to support me unless I personally confirm it. Your generosity means too much to me for there to ever be uncertainty about where your support is going. More than anything, please keep sharing my story. The money helps me continue the fight, but the reach may ultimately help us find the kidney. Maybe you are not my one. Maybe you know my one. Thank you for standing with me, praying with me, and helping me keep going. DON’T LET IT STOP WITH YOU. ❤️ #FindMyOne #DontLetItStopWithYou #KidneyForSteven #LivingKidneyDonor #GoFundMe #ButGod
