Op 24 juni 2026 werd het noorden van Venezuela getroffen door twee zware aardbevingen. In enkele seconden verloren duizenden mensen hun huis, hun veiligheid en in veel gevallen ook hun dierbaren. Vooral gemeenschappen in La Guaira, Caracas en omliggende regio’s zijn zwaar getroffen.

Volgens de meest recente berichtgeving (29 juni 2026) zijn minstens 1.450 mensen omgekomen, zijn meer dan 3.100 mensen gewond geraakt en worden nog steeds duizenden mensen vermist. Achter elk cijfer schuilt een familie, een verhaal en een leven dat plots volledig is veranderd.

Daarom start ik samen met mijn vrouw (van Venezuela) deze inzamelactie.

Het ingezamelde geld gaat rechtstreeks naar I LOVE VENEZUELA FOUNDATION, INC. Ik beheer de donaties niet zelf: de fondsen worden via GoFundMe naar de stichting geleid, zodat zij samen met hun partners op het terrein noodhulp kunnen organiseren voor families en gemeenschappen die het zwaarst getroffen zijn.
