Help Me Heal and Rebuild My Future Through Education

My name is Ghada Skaik, and I am 27 years old. In 2021, I graduated with a degree in English Education, full of energy, hope, and dreams. After my graduation, I dedicated myself to improving my English so I could continue my studies abroad. I successfully passed the B2 Upper-Intermediate level, and I was preparing for the Advanced level, step by step, moving closer to my biggest dream of pursuing a master’s degree in the UK.
But then the genocide began, and everything stopped. My studies, my plans, and my future — all were put on hold as survival became the only focus.

For 682 days, my family and I have endured unimaginable hardship. We have been evacuated 7 times, forced to leave behind our lives again and again. Life has become almost impossible, yet I refuse to surrender to despair.
Still, even in the middle of genocide, I tried to keep going. Recently, I managed to take the Duolingo English Test — after five attempts under unbearable conditions of fear, destruction, and unstable internet. Passing that test was not just about language, but proof that I am still alive, still fighting, and still determined to hold on to my future.

I dream of the day I can finally study my master’s degree in the UK. I even created this image with AI, because I keep imagining myself there — I already know what I want to study and where.
I chose the name “Ghada the Dreamer” because I am always dreaming of a better future. I love life, and I keep thinking about how to grow, improve myself, and build my future. No matter how hard the circumstances are, I will continue, I will not give up, and I will never let go of my dreams.

Your support means more than words can ever say. It is not only for my education, but also what helps me and my family of five survive these unbearable days. Part of it will provide us with the basics we desperately need, and the rest will help me rebuild my future through education.
I am not asking for pity. I am asking for a chance — to heal, to rebuild, and to continue the journey that was stolen from me.
Every contribution, every share, every act of kindness brings me closer to turning pain into possibility. For this, I am endlessly grateful.
With hope and gratitude,
