"During this last year of hiatus, tending to family and pressing matters at home, I have written the follow up to BEING AS AN OCEAN's debut album, 'Dear G-d...' Over the years, that debut album had the largest impact on who I am, who I have become as an artist, and the trajectory that my life has taken. I have been lucky enough to travel the globe, sharing my love for music and passion for performance with countless fans.

'Dear G-d...' was written out of my vulnerability at a time when I was discovering what it meant to be a good man in this world, putting my struggles with depression and mental health into words, and fully forming and reconciling an understanding of my faith in Love. Out of that honesty, many listeners and fans have found a deep connection and catharsis in BEING AS AN OCEAN's music: a momentary escape from unimaginably hard circumstances, a source of empowerment when they felt their weakest, a source of courage to battle suicidal/self-destructive tendencies, and feeling love through my words and the music of Emotional Hardcore. Every single interaction with you at shows and online has blessed me immensely. This privilege has been a constant comfort and blessing throughout my career for when I feel alone, ineffective, misunderstood, or am in a dark place. I know that there are MILLIONS who have felt the same way. That is special, it's deeply human, it's healing, and it connects us. It is something that I must continue to cultivate in my life and, in turn, those who hear my music and attend BAAO shows.

As of 2024, I am the sole founding member of BAAO, and with that responsibility, it became clear to me that I needed to begin a new chapter of my life and in the life of my music. 'Dear G-d... Vol. II' is a continuation of the sound, emotions, and vulnerability found in the debut. I am ecstatic to be able to share an album that is WHOLLY my experience.

It is me, down to every note and lyric. You will hear my heart, my thoughts, my most quiet insecurities, and my hopes within this album.

If you have been affected by the music that BAAO has made, if we have been there for you in your darkest moments, if you have been listening for one day, one month, or 13 years, if you know and love me, know that I have been deeply affected BY YOU. You have saved me and you have inspired me to relentlessly chase my purpose and this work of making art and I offer you my greatest thanks.

As an independent band, all that I am truly asking for is the small help of many in order to continue spreading Love, compassion, acceptance, and humanity to whoever interacts with my music and our performances.

I am making music to make You feel, make You seen, and most importantly know that You belong.
