<div>On July 30, 2026, an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan killed ten climbers, including six local mountain workers: Kilu (Kili Pemba) Sherpa, Yukta (Pur Bahadur) Gurung, Nima Sherpa, Gyalu Sherpa, Nawang Thendu Sherpa, and Sohail Sakhi. Their deaths are a direct consequence of the risks these workers take every season, risks The Juniper Fund exists to answer.

We start with a five-year financial commitment, then build the relationships that carry it forward: funding for vocational training, education, and small businesses, plus community initiatives that connect youth, elders, and widows so no family carries this loss alone.

<div>We are asking for your help as we bring these six families into our programs, with the same commitment we make to every family we support: $4,000 per year, per family, for five years, totaling $120,000, plus access to our full range of support programs.
